Switched between in-person and online teaching when necessary, carefully reintroducing pre-Covid teaching methods and assignments as the year progressed. 

Successfully completed New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) requirements with two successful observations.

Core French & Prep Coverage LTO with AMDSB
2020/2021 School Year

Year-long LTA. Commencing NTIP.
Planned, modified, differentiated, taught, and assessed the four strands of the Ontario French Curriculum, as well as taught Physical Education to Kindergarten and Grade One students. Pivoted from in-class to remote online teaching various times throughout the school year, ensuring to create smooth transitions for all students each time. Worked on technical skills related to using a plethora of Google products (Classroom, Meet, Slides, Docs, Jamboard, Sheets), as well as other online products to ensure an engaging learning environment whether we were online or offline. Became one of the earliest Verified Kahoot Educators through the Kahoot Academy, creating a variety of Kahoot quizzes that other teachers are using within their own French classrooms.

Core French LTO with AMDSB (5 months)
January 2019 to June 2019

Long Term assignment teaching Core French to Grades 4/5, 6/7 and 7/8 split classes. Planned, modified, differentiated, taught and assessed the four strands of the Ontario French Curriculum. 

Developed interesting and engaging projects and assignments to aid in creating a more positive view of learning the French language. Helped integrate the French language in a fun and creative way with classes assisting in planning and running a Crêpes Café at the school.

Social Media Campaign for Ontario Public Library Week

Library Clerk (Programming & Marketing)
April 2015 to October 2017

Performed day-to-day circulation desk activities, including checking patron materials in and out of the library’s computer system, placing holds, renewing materials, and aiding patrons in finding materials. Assisted with Interloan library duties, ordering in and sending out library materials throughout the province of Ontario. Ensured book clubs (especially the Book to Movie Club) were organized and books were ordered and given out to members, with meetings and possible discussion questions in place. Developed, coordinated and marketed programming at the St. Marys Public Library for all ages. Managed the library’s presence on social media, concentrating especially on Facebook, participating in FOPL OMD social media pilot project. Put out a monthly newsletter to email subscribers detailing upcoming programs and events, and items available at the library related to that specific month. Kept track of statistics monthly to keep the library and the board up-to-date on the use of the library and its services.  Wrote an article for a local newspaper detailing what was happening at the Library. 

Adult Learning Instructor (Contract)
February 2017

Prepared and delivered a three-day lesson on Computers for Work, Learning and Life - a hands-on computer class that focused on the basics of using a computer (what are the different parts?; how do you find something on your computer?) and basics of using the internet (making an email, using email, attaching files to an email, searching the internet efficiently, using the internet for job search opportunities).

Corporate Communications Assistant

Spring/Summer 2016

Helped develop, produce and hand-out newsletter for businesses and citizens of St. Marys by attending construction meetings. Helped create a liaise between the construction team and possibly concerned people in town by using the knowledge gained at the meetings for the newsletter and for time spent out on the streets where I would answer questions, quell concerns and help people get to the businesses they were hoping to get to. Developed a safety plan for myself and other Roadsters to ensure we had ways to keep ourselves out of danger and protect selves if needed.

Digitization Coordinator

Organized and executed the digitization of over 3000 photographs in the St. Marys Museum’s collection for the Picture St. Marys website. Researched and purchased equipment as per corporate guidelines. Implemented practices to ensure scanned files would be as future-proof as possible. Spoke to various community groups about the project and its importance to the museum and the Town of St. Marys. 

Children's Program Coordinator/Curatorial Assistant

Developed summer children’s programs that integrated fun activities with learning about the past and the community. Performed various research tasks related to the community, architecture and genealogy. Assisted the curator in day-to-day operations of the Museum including attending historical association meetings and aiding in the planning and implementation of a large project whereby an addition was added to the existing structure.

University of Western Ontario - Bachelor of Education

Obtained a Bachelor of Education for Primary and Junior grades. Emphasis on Balanced Literacy, with electives on literacy in Kindergarten, and teaching students struggling to read and write.

Wilfrid Laurier University - Bachelor of Arts (Honours)

Obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, with a focus on drama, poetry, Canadian Themes and Shakespeare.

Minored in Psychology, with emphasis on child and adolescent development
